Board Of Directors

Andrew Clark – Director (Chair)

‘I was introduced to the foundation by my daughters who felt that my business experience would help the charity achieve their aims. As a father with three daughters I was inspired by Sara’s story and by the magnificent work the charity had achieved before I became involved.

I am proud to be part of this dedicated team who will help enable the charity to; match the dreams of the founders Ged and Julie, illuminate the memory of Sara and perhaps most importantly,  achieve Sara’s aims of caring for sick children by enabling them to enjoy a period of respite and happiness with their families in our holiday retreat.’

Rachael Miley – Director (Secretary)

‘I am excited to be part of this inspirational charity. I unfortunately never had the chance to meet Sara, but through the hard work and dedication of her family and friends I know we can make a difference to the lives of children who deserve it.’

Helen Holmes – Director

‘I am a Family Lawyer and got involved during the early difficult times for the Charity.
I have recently become a mother and am currently keeping a low profile with my Director involvements due to pressure of my work and family commitments.
I actively assist the charity with all legal matters and will help all I can in the future, and I look forward to the charity achieving its well deserved aims.’

Sara Clark – Director

‘I was thinking of doing some voluntary work with some of my spare time when I came across Saras Hope Foundation in the local press in 2007. I contacted Ged and really it was Ged and Julie´s passion and commitment that made me want to support the charity, as well as understanding how important it is for families to be able to enjoy their time together on holiday when a loved one has a life limiting illness. I thought that my skills and experience might help, with the charity being so new. I am willing to get stuck in with as much as possible where time allows and to particularly help the charity with applying to trusts and foundations for funding.’

Keith Gibson – Director

‘I was privileged to know Sara, unfortunately not for long enough. I am also privileged to be friends with Ged and Julie and was absolutely delighted to be invited to be involved and part of this wonderful dream to help make it become reality.’

Liz McAleavy – Director

‘I had the pleasure of knowing Sara, watching her grow through the journey of her life. I fondly remember her as a tiny baby, as a toddler, as a school girl, and it brought great warmth to my heart to see her become the buoyant and beautiful young woman that we remember.
For a number of years I would call for her during my morning school run and even on the darkest and most dire of winter mornings I was always greeted by the warmth of her smile, which brought light to each day. It was that same beaming smile that would meet me at the school gate, broadening the closer we got to her home and her mother Julie. Now through the Sara´s Hope Foundation, that warmth will shine as a beacon radiating comfort and hope to all those children who desperately need the touch of her wonderful smile.’
